Oxycodone is detectable in saliva within minutes of taking it, and will stay in urine for up to 4 days. Like most opioids, oxycodone is detectable in hair follicles for up to 90 days after use.
What is Oxycodone?

Oxycodone hydrochloride is an opioid. Opioids act on opioid receptors in the brain. Many, other natural or synthetic drugs are derived from, or related to, the same opium poppy used to create opioids.
Oxycodone is most commonly prescribed by doctors to relieve moderate or severe pain, and is known to be addictive. Because Oxycodone is prescribed by doctors, those in pain feel safe to take the drug as directed, with overwhelmingly negative consequences. Even taking as prescribed can leave you addicted to the drug, it all depends on your body chemistry.
Opioid use has become an issue with children in recent years, as Dr. Groenewald makes clear in his article published in the National Library of Medicine, entitled, "Opioid prescribing patterns for pediatric patients in the USA."
"Nonmedical use of opioids by children is a public health crisis. In 2016, 891,000 children (about 3.6% of the population) in the United States 12–17 years of age reported opioid misuse." -Groenewald, Cornelius B. MBChB
